The explosive sequel to Shaun of the Dead is one of the most fun movies that you will see for a long time but beware for really strong (comic) violence, strong language and some sexual references. If you're kid is a mature (and I mean mature) 12 year old, let them watch it.

This is one of the hardest set of films to rank, Shaun Of The Dead is the first in the epic and hilarious trilogy, and it's a zombie film, which is always good. Hot Fuzz is just an overall brilliant flawless film with a deep, well thought out story line and rich British humor.

Various scenes in Hot Fuzz feature a variety of action film DVDs such as Police Story 3: Super Cop and scenes from Point Break and Bad Boys II.

It is this element of the absurd that keeps this bloody and graphic image at 15. Other classification issues include sex references such as "he fingered her up the duck pond" and "there's nothing like a bit of girl-on–girl". These are moderate in tone and do not present a problem at 15.

Children who grew up with the much-loved Goosebumps books will relate to it. The movie is meant to be scary, which makes it more suitable for older children and teenagers. The CGI monsters are very scary and could certainly frighten children under eight years, as well as some slightly older children.

If this is at all a surprise, it's because Hot Fuzz is no stranger to Netflix; since 2017 it's been added five times, always being removed 6 or 12 months after being added, only to be returned after a few months. It was last removed from the platform in April 2022, so it's been gone for quite a while.

Taking Shawn's and Steven's ideas into account, I think the theme of Hot Fuzz is: Life triumphs when we put the needs of the community ahead of our own needs. Note, in the first 5 minutes of the movie, Janine tells Nicholas that he won't really live until he finds a person he cares about more than his job.

It's a grand monster mash. About the “terror:” Goosebumps books are written for 8 to 12-year-olds and if your kids read and weren't frightened by the books, the same should hold true for the movie. However, as the creatures all come out to haunt, some moments are scary.

For younger children who are particularly sensitive, some of the movie's imagery and characters might be a little too scary, so you should consider this before viewing. This movie isn't recommended for children under eight years, and parental guidance is recommended for children aged 8-12 years.

Overall, this is a very sweet, romantic and positive film. Kids over 12 are certainly okay to watch it (even perhaps younger if they are not bothered by zombies and the like). There is no swearing or foul language, nothing inappropriate and no sex scenes.

Melissa McCarthy is as profane as usual, and swears frequently. Despite some raunchy content, though, should be fine for teens.
