How many PSI should a paddle board be? ›

The best inflatable stand-up paddle board PSI level is anywhere from 10 to 15. Most people inflate their board to about 10 to 12 PSI. A higher PSI will help if you are riding in cold or choppy water. If you need a bit more stability, try increasing the PSI of your board as well.

A SUP board must work for your size. If the board doesn't displace the correct amount of water for your weight, you won't be supported well and the board may feel unstable. Board volume and weight capacity are two factors that affect how stable you will feel and how well the board will travel through the water.

If the pump works properly but the inflatable won't inflate, look for areas where air could be leaking. Start by checking whether all zippers connecting each section are fully zippered and whether all sections of material are arranged as they should be.

Turn the SUP board valve stem to the CLOSED (UP) position.

If you leave the valve stem in the open position, you will lose all of the air pressure when you remove the hose.

Rolling | Folding from the tail is generally the best method of securing your SUP board for storage and transportation since fin boxes and fins will be inside the board. It is critical that all the air is removed since the valve can not be accessed once the roll is started.

What PSI should my board be inflated to? We recommend inflating your board to 12-15 PSI depending on rider height and weight as well as ambient temperature. On a hot sunny day, you may need slightly less air than on a colder day.

Longevity depends on a few different factors...if the board is good quality and maintained well it will easily last 5 years! Maintenance is key, like any else, if you take care of it it should last you! if not it will last 3 years or less.

On the start of our own personal paddle boarding journey we made this very mistake, and we can confidently say, don't buy the cheapest paddle board you can find because you will end up with an expensive lilo. Cheaper boards have single layer PVC which is much more prone to punctures.

In summary, a SUP and a paddle board refer to the same watercraft used for the sport of stand-up paddleboarding. SUP refers slightly more to the activity, of actually standing, rather than solely the board being used.

You may have to brute force it if no other separation method is working. If you're able then pour icy water inside the paddle (this is sometimes possible with 3 piece paddles). And then resort to twisting, yanking and pulling again.

Why is the pump not working on my Isle paddle board? ›

If you can no longer pump the board and the PSI gauge has not moved, please remove the pump hose from the board and then reattach it, this will 'jump start' the needle — it could initially be a little stuck.
